How we work

Everything in writing. Nothing hidden.

The parts of this that usually go wrong are not technical. They are about who knew what, and when.

The price does not change midway

The written scope and fee are fixed. If extra work comes up we tell you the cost first and wait for you to agree.

Your records stay private

An NDA is signed before we see anything. Only the named people on your account get access.

One person you can call

No call centre and no ticket queue. One named person knows your business and answers.

You can leave whenever you want

No minimum term. Your books, documents and software access come back to you in usable form.

Why us

Measured against the alternatives, not in the abstract.

Every one of these is a real option and some of them are the right one. Here is where each stops working.

Against hiring someone

One accountant has nobody checking the work, no cover when they are ill, and takes everything they learned with them when they resign. The cost comparison is on the Bangladesh page and it is closer than most owners expect once festival bonuses, provident fund and a desk are counted.

Against a local bookkeeper

Cheaper, often good, and structurally the same problem: one person, working alone, unchecked. Ask who reviews the month before it reaches you. If the answer is nobody, the price difference is buying you something.

Against a chartered accountancy firm

They can sign your audit and we cannot, and for that work you should use them. But the sign-off is an annual event and your books are a monthly problem. We do the monthly work properly and hand the audit firm something they can sign without a three-week reconstruction.

Against a large outsourcing firm

They staff a function: a lead, analysts, compliance specialists, an account manager. If you are big enough to need those layers, that is the right answer and we will say so. If you are not, they are overhead, and you end up talking to someone who has never opened your ledger. Here you deal with the person who runs your close.

On price

You will not be quoted for this work before a meeting. The few firms here that publish any price at all are billing foreign clients in dollars, or pricing a different service. Ours is on the site before you call, and in the engagement letter before any work starts.

On what we will not take

Statutory audit, assurance, tax filing and legal opinions are licensed work and we refer them out. A firm that says yes to all of it is telling you something.

See it as a table

How the work starts.

You can stop after any step.

A first conversation

Fifteen minutes. What you do, where the books stand, what is actually hurting. We say honestly whether we can help.

A look at your books

No charge. We tell you what we find, including the parts you will not enjoy hearing.

A written price

Scope and fee in writing before any work starts. You can stop here.

The monthly routine

Entries, reconciliation, close, and the pack on a fixed date. Reviewed together as often as you want it.

Who does your work

Work done in Dhaka, to the standard set in the US practice.

The claim that a firm beats a single hire only means something if you can see the shape of it.

Founder, in the United States

Nineteen years in finance and operations, and more than a hundred engagements, before any of this came to Dhaka. Sets the standard the work is done to, and sits on the monthly call for CFO clients. The practice was built serving American businesses; the process came with it.

Accounting manager, in Dhaka

Runs the close and reviews the work before it reaches you. This is the person who decides the month is finished, and the one who answers when you ask why a number moved.

Operations, in Dhaka

The recurring work: entries, reconciliation, the documents and the chasing. Done here rather than by you, and checked before it counts.

Nothing reaches you unchecked

Whoever prepares the month is not the person who signs it off. That is the ordinary arrangement inside a finance team and the thing a single hire structurally cannot give you, however good they are. It is also why a resignation here does not stop your books.

Scope

What we do not do.

Finsightic is not a chartered accountancy firm. Statutory audit and assurance are ICAB licensed work and we do not do them. We do not file your VAT or income tax returns with the NBR, we do not make your RJSC filings, and we do not give legal opinions. What we do is keep the records all of that is built from: a VAT return that is a filing job rather than a reconstruction, TDS deducted and scheduled month by month, provident fund and gratuity accounted for rather than guessed at, and a ledger your auditor can work from without a three week scramble. We refer the licensed work to ICAB registered firms and hand over books that are ready for it.

Full HR services are outside our scope too. We would rather say no than take work we cannot do properly, and you should be wary of anyone who says yes to all of it.

Questions

Before you call.

Who will we actually deal with?

One named person who knows your business and answers. The work is done in Dhaka. The process and the review standard come from the US practice.

Who checks the work?

Whoever prepares your month is not the person who signs it off. A second person reviews before anything reaches you. That is ordinary inside a finance team, and it is the thing one hire structurally cannot give you however good they are.

What is in the engagement letter?

The scope, the price, the dates you will receive things, and what is not included. All of it before work starts. Nothing about the fee is left to be settled later.

What happens if we leave?

No minimum term. Your books, your documents and your software access come back to you in usable form. Being difficult to leave is not a retention strategy we are interested in.
