Months behind, or never properly started.
This is one-time work, and it is quoted before it begins. We rebuild the entries, reconcile every account, and hand back a clean starting point with a note of what we could not establish and why.
Who this is for
- The accounts stopped some time ago and nobody is quite sure when.
- A lender, an investor or an auditor has asked for a period you cannot produce.
- You changed software and the balances did not survive the move.
How it runs
- We scope the backlog first and quote it. No open-ended hourly work.
- Entries rebuilt period by period, oldest first, so each month closes on the last.
- Every account reconciled, with unmatched items listed rather than buried.
- A written handover: what was fixed, what was assumed, what still needs a decision.
What is included.
- Chart of Accounts setup and cleanup
- Payable and receivable tracking
- Bank, card and mobile-wallet reconciliation
- Expense categorization and documents
- Month-end and year-end closing
- Catch-up work for delayed accounts
- Ledger and record management
- A rebuilt ledger your auditor, your VAT filer and the NBR can all work from

Accounts reconciled before investor due diligence
Accounts were significantly behind with no handover notes from the previous bookkeeper. An investor term sheet depended on producing clean financials before due diligence.
Reconciled all nine months, reclassified misbooked entries, rebuilt the chart of accounts, and produced investor-ready financial statements with supporting schedules.
Clean financials delivered before the deadline. Due diligence proceeded without flags. The company moved onto ongoing monthly accounting with the same team.
A year of backlog cleared before the filing deadline
The company had filed for an extension but had over a year of unreconciled accounts. Tax had not been filed in two states. The owner was tracking expenses in a spreadsheet that did not tie to the bank.
Reconciled the full backlog, rebuilt cost of goods and inventory tracking, prepared the outstanding filings, and produced the financial statements their accountant needed to file the return.
The return was filed before the deadline and the tax position was brought current with no penalties. The owner now has a clean baseline and monthly accounting running.
Nobody has to be blamed. The backlog just has to go.
A backlog is usually the load, not the person. Your person keeps the current month running; we clear the pile behind them, put the process in writing, and hand back accounts that stay closed. No sides taken, nobody replaced.

Before you call.
How far back do you go?
As far back as it takes to reach an opening balance you can defend. Sometimes that is four months. Sometimes it is three years because nothing was ever tied out. We look first and then tell you which one it is.
How is catch-up work priced?
Separately from the monthly fee, and agreed in writing before anything starts. The price follows volume and how far back it goes. It is not billed by the hour and it does not grow while the work is running.
Will we have to amend filings that have already gone in?
That is not our call to make. We produce corrected records and the licensed firm that files for you decides what, if anything, needs amending. We will tell you plainly when we think something is likely to need it.
What do we have at the end of it?
A closed and reconciled set of accounts, an opening balance you can point at, and a written list of what was actually wrong. The last part matters, because most of what caused the mess is still in the way you work.
