Fractional CFO

Financial leadership for the decisions ahead.

Forecasts, budgets and the financial guidance behind the decisions ahead. For founders and owners who are making every financial call alone.

The records are kept. The decisions are still yours alone.

Four things we hear from owners before an engagement starts.

Every call is yours to make

Hiring, pricing and spending decisions get made on instinct, because there is nobody to model them with first.

There is no forecast to steer by

You know the bank balance. You do not know what it covers, or what happens if growth slows for two quarters.

A raise, a loan or a sale is coming

That conversation needs a model, a plan and clean numbers, and building them from scratch takes weeks you do not have.

You cannot see what makes money

Revenue grows and margin does not, and nobody has worked out which product, channel or customer is responsible.

What an engagement can include

Scope is agreed before we start. Which of these lead depends on what you are deciding this year.

Cash forecasting

A rolling view of what cash covers, and what it will not, far enough ahead to act on.

Budgets and scenarios

What changes if you hire, raise prices, or growth slows. Modelled before you commit.

Board and investor reporting

Board reporting that explains performance, risks and the decisions ahead.

Pricing and margin work

What each product, channel or project actually contributes.

What changes with a finance lead in the room.

A forecast you steer by

A rolling view of what the cash covers, far enough ahead that you can still do something about it.

Decisions modelled before you commit

What happens if you hire, raise prices or growth slows, worked through before the money is spent.

Someone to think it through with

The decisions stay yours. You stop making them alone.

Ready when the conversation comes

Board, lender, investor or buyer, the numbers and the plan are prepared before anybody asks for them.

From the first question to a clear plan.

Start with what needs attention.

Send a short message or book a conversation. You do not need to choose a service first.

Agree on the right support.

Discuss your priorities and receive a proposal with clear responsibilities, deliverables and fixed fees.

Address the priority first.

Begin with the work that matters most, with a clear point of contact and a practical next step.

Common questions about fractional CFO services

Insight stays current between meetings

Relevant reporting, forecasts, priorities and commentary can be organized in the Finsightic portal based on the engagement. The portal keeps the information accessible. Your CFO provides the interpretation, judgment and discussion that turn it into a decision.

Some of the tools we work in

From an operating model to one that survived diligence.

They had a detailed monthly operating model: a profit and loss plus a cash bridge, one case, and no forecast balance sheet. It was enough to run the business on and not enough for an outside investor to test. The gap only matters when somebody starts pulling on the numbers, which was about to happen.

A model that ties

A full three-statement build. Income statement to balance sheet to cash flow, every period reconciling, with a balance check that has to come to zero.

Three cases on one switch

Base, upside and downside driven from a single toggle, so a question about a slower year is answered in the room instead of in a follow-up email.

Grounded in actuals, not assumptions

Board-reported figures replaced modelled drivers, and three historical years out of the accounting system were integrated behind the forecast.

Every period reconciles. The balance check comes to zero in every column, which is the first thing a careful reader tests and the fastest way to lose them. This engagement is anonymised: real situation, real work, and the figures that would identify the client left out.

The rest of what we do

Most engagements use more than one of these, and they are built to fit together.
